OSHA Recordability

Our medical team provides treatment with the knowledge of OSHA Recordability standards, but always with the priority on patient care.

Examples of Recordable items:

• 1st, 2nd or 3rd degree burns requiring medical treatment
• Stitches, as a result of a cut, puncture, laceration, abrasion or splinter
• Treating infected cuts, lacerations, punctures or abrasions with prescription medications at prescription doses
• Physical therapy as a result of a strain, sprain or dislocation

Examples of Non-recordable items:

• 1st, 2nd or 3rd degree burns requiring “first aid”
• Bandaging of a cut, puncture, laceration, abrasion or splinter
• Treating infected cuts, lacerations, punctures or abrasions with non-prescription medications at non-prescription doses
• Use of a massage to treat a strain, sprain or dislocation

Communication

A key to Workers' Comp case resolution is to maintain immediate and accurate communication with employers regarding injury management. After seeing an injured worker, the physician will call the company contact to discuss the services provided, the diagnosis and their ongoing treatment plan for the injured employee. A written status report form will also be sent back with the employee, as well as faxed or e-mailed to the company. Additionally, our staff is available anytime for phone consultations and will also be glad to meet to discuss cases.
