Paramount Physical Therapy Services
Justin Mitchell, PT is the owner and sole practitioner of Paramount Physical Therapy Services, LLC (PPTS).
Justin grew up and attended high school in a suburb of Chicago, IL. He relocated to Raleigh, North Carolina in 1991 with his family. Justin attended East Carolina University from 1992 until 1997 and received two degrees during his time there. He obtained a degree in Exercise and Sport Science in May1995 and then graduated from the Department of Allied Health Sciences/Physical Therapy with Honors in May1997.
Justin settled in the Charlotte area after college and has been practicing Physical Therapy locally since 1999. He initially joined the Riverview and Arrowood team of professionals in August 2004 and has since started his own business, PPTS. Justin continues to provide all of the physical therapy services performed at both Riverview and Arrowood Medical Centers. With over 20 years of clinical experience, Justin prefers to treat his patients one on one. Unlike other Physical Therapy clinics, he treats his patients without the use of assistants or other medical staff and knows the benefits of this continuity of care.
Justin has a love of the outdoors and sports. He enjoys camping, hiking, kayaking, and snowboarding with his family in the mountains. You’ll find him and his two sons wakeboarding on Lake Wylie in the summer. Justin’s professional focus is on helping people get better from problems that arise from aging, work, and play. He treats every patient as an individual with compassion and understanding. Justin lives in Belmont, NC with his wife Jessica, and their sons, Jake and Jaxson.
Why Choose Paramount Physical Therapy?
You’ll be sure to receive the individual attention you deserve when you receive physical therapy at our centers. With two locations and flexible scheduling, we strive to accommodate your individual needs.
The underlying goals of Physical Therapy are generally to reduce pain and improve function depending on the condition being treated. My approach to Physical Therapy is to jump start your path to recovery and teach you how to achieve and maintain a healthier you. You may not enjoy the effort your recovery takes, but you will love the results that effort produces. Every patient receives a thorough evaluation of their specific condition which guides the treatment intervention. Of course, every patient and condition is different, but in general, treatments may consist of:
- Patient education about their condition
- Postural re-education
- Therapeutic Exercises including stretching, strengthening, and/or conditioning exercises
- Hands-on manual treatment including joint and soft tissue mobilization as well as intramuscular manual therapy
- The use of modalities including ultrasound, electrical stimulation, moist heat, ice, and spinal traction
- Therapeutic kinesio taping
- And more….
Both North and South Carolina residents have direct access to Physical Therapy. You should check with your insurance provider to determine if a prescription from your physician is necessary.
Advantages of Partnering With Arrowood Medical Center, Occumed, and Riverview Medical Center for Treatment of Your Injured Workers
Our physical therapy services are convenient for patients who are being treated by the providers at any of our medical centers. In most cases, the injured worker who is receiving PT can attend their scheduled Medical Re-checks immediately following a PT appointment. Information is provided to the treating provider regarding the patient’s progress and expected course of care either verbally or is written into the daily PT note.
Some benefits of partnering with Paramount Physical Therapy Services include:
- All of the medical documentation is in one location and both the PT and the Provider can be contacted as needed.
- We value the significance of open, honest communication between the employer, attending physician, and physical therapist and are fully aware of its impact on the treatment outcome.
- We accept most WC insurances and offer medical services to injured workers.
- We are able to perform Physical Ability Testing (PAT) for pre-placement and for workers returning to work.
How Do I Get Started?
All workers’ comp injuries which are deemed appropriate for Physical Therapy will need to be authorized by the insurance carrier prior to scheduling. Our staff will take care of the authorization process once a referral has been made.
If you feel you may benefit from physical therapy, we suggest that you check with your insurance to determine the level of coverage for Physical Therapy services first. We can assist in that process if necessary. Once you know what to expect in terms of benefits, please give us a call to set up an appointment at the medical center that best suits your needs.
Please be sure to have your prescription (if applicable) and insurance information available when scheduling your appointment and bring those with you on your first visit.
Please see Fees and Insurance for a list of insurance plans we accept.
